Foliar Flush
Est. 2025
Foliar Flush was born out of an interest in rare and unique plants. As many who visit this site will know, the more sought after a collectable plant is, the harder it is to find. This often leads to questionable practices that impact the continued presence of these botanical wonders in habitat. Foliar Flush sources plants and seeds from a select few wholesalers and private collectors that share an understanding of the importance of conservation efforts to protect these often endangered species. The website clearly states whether the items for sale were sourced as seedlings or seeds. Most of the plants offered are grown in small quantities, from seed, in a micro-nursery in Stockholm, of which the seeds are mainly produced in cultivation. Indeed, Foliar Flush also maintains stock plants for seed production.
A small number of plants offered are new to cultivation and only recently described (shown to be a new-to-science species) and documented scientifically. Some so rare and new that botanical gardens have yet to acquire them. This means that the new-to-science species have been collected from habitat. However, this was conducted by professional persons with appropriate permits. The plants offered here were grown from first or second generation cultivation plants; or, the seeds are first generation seeds of the original habitat-collected plants that are now in cultivation. In fact, some of the species that Foliar Flush hopes to offer in the future have yet to be described, but will also conform to the sourcing standards.

The number of rare, collectable and unique plants offered by Foliar Flush will increase. The sourcing practices aim to ensure that population numbers in the wild do not additionally decrease.
